Called “apple at its most refined”, Ice Cider is a sweet yet sophisticated dessert wine made from apples and concentrated by natural Northern winter cold. The drink, which is typically 9 – 11% alcohol by volume, was developed in Southern Quebec, Canada over the past 10 years - ‘Cidre de Glace’ in French.
Eden Ice Cider Company is among the first producers licensed by the Federal government to make Ice Cider in the U.S. Our Ice Cider is made from a unique blend of 11 traditional and heirloom varieties of apples, including Roxbury Russet (discovered in Roxbury, MA in the mid-1600s), Northern Spy, MacIntosh, and Esopus Spitzenburg (grown by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello).
100% of the apples used are from Vermont orchards, including Champlain Orchards in Shoreham and Scott Farm in Dummerston; as well as our own Eden Orchards in West Charleston. It takes over 8 lbs. of apples to make one beautiful bottle!
